A video from the Museum of the Fashion Institute of Technology. The curators Emma McClendon, assistant curator, and Nicole Bloomfield, conservation technologist, analyze a pair of blue pants in the collection of the museum. They make many fascinating discoveries in the process.
The exhibit, “Denim: Fashion’s Frontier” is at the Fashion & Textile History Gallery

Another video this one from The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, “Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715-2015” showing the installation of a mannequin in the exhibit. Features the drop fall front trousers, a dressier version of the denim pair from the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

I loved it – I don’t know much about men’s fashions but I am encouraged to start looking at them.

I love the tailoring details that can be incorporated into womens wear. For instance, I like the row of side buttons at the knee on the short pants, but I might lengthen the pants and put the buttons near the ankles. And I like the lacing detail at the center back on the pants.
